I think the hardest part is that I know I'll never be able to kiss her head anymore, scratch under her chin, hear her talk to me in that specific meow that she never delivered to anyone else. I miss her silvery paws and her gentleness. It was so hard to let such a perfect being go. I just have to cough out the words, "I'll just have to focus on the good times and be thankful for the time I had with her." It's hard to get comfort from that. It's still too early, I suppose, having just put her down one week ago yesterday. I know this was a merciful act on my part and that she will not suffer anymore, but I want her back.
